E assim termina esta trilogia acerca da vida de Genghis Khan. Não é uma biografia com todos os pormenores e momentos marcantes de Genghis, mas sim um livro que narra uma história na qual são incluídos determinados pormenores verídicos.

A narrativa mantém o mesmo estilo dos livros anteriores, sendo cativante e aliciante, o que muitas vezes faz com que a leitura se prolongue só para saber o que irá acontecer a seguir.

Neste último livro, Genghis Khan domina um já um grande império, mas apesar de tudo é desafiado e acaba por partir novamente à conquista e destruição de novos territórios, neste caso dos territórios árabes. Ao mesmo tempo tem de lidar com os problemas da sucessão, sabe que não é imortal e que um dia irá partir, e deseja que deixar a sua marca e que o seu sucessor mantenha o estatuto que Genghis Khan deu ao seu povo.

E a partir daqui se desenvolve a história. O autor continua a não quebrar as expectativas, apresentando mais um bom livro, no seu estilo e género e sem desiludir.
Conn Iggulden já sendo um dos meus autores preferidos, mantém assim a sua posição com esta trilogia. Comecei com a tetralogia acerca da vida de César e ficando cativado pelo seu estilo de escrita, aventurei-me nestes e não fiquei desiludido, pelo contrário, gostei e aconselho a quem gosta de livros históricos, mas não aborrecidos e com um enredo bastante bom, uma linguagem acessivel e descrições adequeadas às situações, nem muito extensas, nem muito pequenas, mas sim "perfeitas" para nos enquadrarmos no ambiente que o autor cria.

Após ter lido do mesmo autor a colecção "Emperor Series", acerca da vida de César, e sobre a qual já dei a minha opinião neste blog, decidi aventurar-me numa nova série do mesmo autor denominada "Conqueror Series", mas que desta vez relatava a vida de Ghenghis Khan.

O estilo do escritor continua o mesmo, cativante e com uma história que prende o leitor, não perde muito tempo em descrições, no entanto consegue sempre integrar-nos no ambiente em que a acção se desenrola.
Gosto destes livros porque são uma forma de ao mesmo tempo que lemos uma boa história, vamos também tendo conhecimento acerca de alguns factos destas personagens históricas. Nem tudo é veridico, nem isto se trata de uma biografia, no entanto o autor baseia-se nos factos históricos, desenrolando depois a história a partir dai.


Para quem já leu a colecção anterior deste autor, esta colecção não irá desiludir. Para quem ainda não leu nenhum livro deste autor tem aqui uma boa oportunidade e um bom livro para experimentar.

Este livro é o segundo da série, sendo o primeiro intitulado "Wolf of the Plains".

Este livro conta-nos o inicio da vida de Ghenghis Khan(Temujin) e a sua ascensão nas estepes.

Não me falei deste livro aqui no blog porque quando o criei, já tinha acabado de ler o livro, fica aqui apenas a referência ao livro, para quem esteja interessado em ler a colecção ter conhecimento dos livros existentes.

O livro tem o mesmo estilo de escrita dos outros, no entanto apesar de depois de lermos os livros deste autor ficarmos a conhecer bem o seu estilo, não é algo que seja cansativo, pelo contrário, até ser torna bem cativante em bastantes momentos da história, noutros nem tanto, mas nunca se torna aborrecido.

Nota final: 8/10




O terceiro livro denomina-se "Bons of the Hills" não posso garantir que seja o último pois ainda não o li, nem vi reparei em nenhuma referência que o revelasse(mas talvez tenha sido laspo meu). No entanto, assim que possa irei adquiri este livro pois tenciono completa esta colecção. Deixo aqui a capa e a sinopse.

Bem em relação a esta série a descobri por pura acaso, numa das minhas idas à Fnac. Estava eu na secção de livros ingleses quando me deparo com o livro "The Gods of War". A capa chamou-me a atenção leio a sinopse e decido compra-lo. Quando chego a casa reparo que este não era um livro isolado mas sim o último livro da tetralogia.
Portanto comecei esta série pelo fim, no entanto não me estragou o final, dado que já toda a gente sabe como é que a vida do grande imperador Julio César termina.

Comecei a ler o livro e rapidamente fiquei preso à história e à forma como o autor a enquadrou e engendrou. E quando o acabei de ler, decidi comprar a colecção toda.

Esta série acompanha a vida de César desde a sua infância à sua morte, e cada livro representa uma etapa da sua vida. Apesar de ter factos históricos, a história dos livros não é adaptada por completo ao que realmente aconteceu na sua vida.

O autor altera determinadas partes para poder dar assim o rumo pretendido à história. Não são livros aborrecidos, bem pelo contrário. O escritor não se perde muito em detalhes históricos, narra a história como qualquer livro que seja puramente ficcional, no entanto, no final do livro temos um pequeno resumo histórico que nos enquadra no que realmente se passou e nas alterações que foram feitas à história da vida de César.

A escrita é acessivel e cativante, transportando-nos para o mundo Romano na época de César. "Assistimos" à sua ascensão e queda, e somos envolvidos na história logo a partir do primeiro livro, o que nos faz querer continuar a ler os restantes e acabar a colecção.

Apesar de ter algumas partes aborrecidas, em que a acção é quase nula, os livros no geral são bons e para quem tem um certo interesse em saber um pouco sobre a vida de César tem aqui uma boa oportunidade.
Eu não era lá muito fã de livros sobre a época romana, no entanto, depois de ler estes, o meu interesse aumentou bastante.
Mesmo não sendo uma bibliografia de César, esta série dá-nos a conhecer aspectos reais da sua vida, o que juntando ao enrendo do livro os torna bastante cativantes.

Aconselho a lerem esta série de livros.

Não li nenhum livro em português e por isso não posso opinar acerca da qualidade da tradução, no entanto, para quem esteja interessado e queira ler, pode sempre optar pelos livros em inglês(versão paperback) ja que tem a vantagem de serem mais leves e baratos e a escrita é muito acessível. Qualquer pessoa que consiga ler um simples texto em inglês, consegue facilmente ler e perceber estes livros sem estarem traduzidos.
